• U.S. Businesses are paying a staggering 155 billion to 232 billion on Workers Compensation losses annually (Liberty Mutual 2001)
• From Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA): $1 dollar out of every $3 dollars of worker's compensation costs are currently spent on work-related musculo-skeletal disorders (MSD)
• In Florida each workers compensation case averages $8,422.*
• In Florida 208,366 back injuries have been reported from 1989-1999.*
• In Florida 382,899 (42.9%) of lost time injuries were caused by strains or sprains from 1989-1999.*
• Over $15 billion dollars has been spent on workers’ compensation costs in Florida from 1998-1999.*
• Musculoskeletal disorders represent 55% of Workers Compensation illness claims and 65% of costs!
• Liberty Mutual's 2002 Workplace Safety Index reports direct costs of worker injuries to have cost 40.1 billion dollars. Direct costs are payments made directly to injured employees and their medical care.
